Today is the day when I first visited Central London and also the day when I landed at London Heathrow Airport one month back. It was a strange feeling touching down UK as this is my first time in Great Britain. Here for a business assignment, I received a wonderful experience so far and I am happy having accepted this assignment from my company. Here at workplace in London, there are peoples from about 140 different nations. That’s really excites and never to forget experience to work with so many different people from different culture. Today, In Central London I was able to see Westminster, London Bridge, Parliament and London Eye. I’ve see few monuments here but Big Ben is the one that I really wanted to view in life. One just can't forget the experience of viewing London from London Eye. It is simply spectacular.

Lately I have upgraded my broadband connection from 590 NU (256 kbps) to 749 NU (2 mbps). I presumed that I’ll be able to access podcasts and watch videos available without having waited for buffering. But I am feeling like being cheated after this decision. I have always praise MTNL for their Broadband Services, low downtime and good connection. But this time they have proven me wrong. Though speed is formally upgraded (in my account) but I don’t see my internet speed going up. Here is the result of speed test on internetfrog.com

Internet Speed Test

Download: 214,600 bps
Upload: 90,936 bps
QOS: 96% Quality
Round Trip Time: 2 ms
MaxPause (longest pause recorded during the data download): 141 ms

I have contacted with MTNL Customer support on 1500 regarding this issue. They show confident that it will be corrected within 24 hrs. Heck! It’s been two days now and I don’t know what to do. To make the matter worst they have closed the registration and migration to my previous plan (590 NU - 256k kbps). Great! Now I cannot move back to my previous plan. I can’t believe that I am the only one in this world who is facing this issue. I’m sure there are many other peoples who have migrated to higher plans to get better speed. Do anyone have same experience with MTNL Broadband, I am having?

OMI stands for “Open mind Index”, as they said it. Here this utility can actually help you to calculate your openness for the variety of music.  All you need to enter your last.fm username to generate this graphical statistic given below.

For this, of course you need to have a profile on last.fm, those who don’t know what last.fm is, it’s a social music site where you send data of about whatever you listen on your computer. This is done with the help of a small plug-in available for download after you sign up for service.  When you enter the username, your music data (most specifically, top artist of last 12 months) is downloaded from the last.fm site and used for calculation.

The following table lists the OMI values and there corresponding description. (Mine is 119)

Below 20:        an extremely small bandwidth of tags; a faker or fanatic of an artist
20 - 39:          a small bandwidth of tags; a fanatic of a specific tag
40 - 59:          a small bandwidth of tags; a fanatic of a few types of music
60 - 79:          a substandard of bandwidth of tags
80 - 89:          a balanced bandwidth of tags; a little below the average
90 - 99:          a balanced bandwidth of tags; the golden mean
100 - 109:       a balanced bandwidth of tags; a little above the average
110 - 129:       a high bandwidth of tags
130 - 149:       a very high bandwidth of tags; truly open minded
above 150:      an extremely high bandwidth of tags; an absolute freethinker and freak

Apart from the above, site also list the global statistic, worth to checkout (http://www.musickum.com ).

Few weeks ago, I bought new DG965WH (Media series) Intel Motherboard. It’s an ultimate piece when power, performance and media are taken in account. I’m not listing the full specification but you can find them here. The most tempting is its 7.1 Audio Output support. I’ve been using a number of Intel motherboards, i.e. 810e, 845, 945 GNT, 965 RY. I can comfortably say this have the best audio output quality with Dolby Home Theater certification and based on Intel® Viiv™ technology.

Intel DG965WH Motherboard (Media Series)

Yes, one this to note here is that this motherboard doesn’t support Windows 2003 server Ent. Ed. It’s mean some of driver may fail to install with this OS. Like in my case I am not able to install display driver.

Recently, my site is put on warning by the Google. What I mean by put on warning is that when people search my site on Google, result lead to a warning page of Google instead of the targeted page of my site. The warning page of Google said that there is a badware/malware on my site. Google also suggest visiting stopbadware.org for more information. As shown in the pictures below

I have been experienced some delay in opening the home page, even sometime my I.E crashed. But I never thought that this could be due to some hack that had already taken over my website. It was only just two days, even before I could go deep into the details of error, When finally I got this mail from Google stating that they have identified my site as that one who distribute malware or badware. Now I found that some hack have happened to my site. It is trying to download some plug-in in background that is off course not from my domain. So I decided to redirect the user of my site to a maintenance page so that I can peep hard into the source code and do the cleaning stuff. Even I have tried deleting all blog entries and comments. But, I got no success finding malicious script/code.  Luckily, I have taken the full backup of my site few days back. So I deleted all current pages and uploaded the backup. It works fine.

Anyway this is the time for me to act fast as traffic of site has taken a plunge. It has gone down by 90%. I fear that Google may drop my pages from its index. This is killing me in frustration. However, I have sorted out the problem but Google yet to do a review on my site. It is necessary to remove that nasty warning message. I have made a Review Request on Google and Stopbadware and keeping my finger crossed. I hope Google and Stopbadware will remove my site from their defaulter list.

Probably, this could be a code insertion hack, some third-party supplied advertising may contain links to badware, or the server hacks may have resulted in the insertion of code onto the site's webpage.

Stopbadware.org published some security tips - http://stopbadware.org/home/security

StopBadware discussion group - http://groups.google.com/group/stopbadware

Yesterday, I Bought a Nokia N-73 (Music Edition Mobile).  It’s a Black Color 3G phone. The best feature of phone is high quality, 2.4-inch color display and a 3.2 megapixel camera. It comes with good camera functions that included Sequence mode, Auto Focus, Red eye removal etc. I must say there is no need to carry a separate camera with you. You can also shoot video. Length of video depends on memory.  But more I like the still camera mode.
Another feature is integrated stereo speakers with 3D sound. It has stereo output with two speakers, first speaker at the top and second is at the bottom of phone. It comes with an equalizer to adjust the music according to your taste.  Moreover, you can switch to visualization mode. Supported format are MP3/AAC/eAAC/eAAC+/WMA. The phone also features Visual radio.

Other key features are:
  • S60 3rd Edition Software on Symbian OS
  • It will be available as WCDMA 2100/EGSM850/900/1800/1900 MHz (RM-133) or EGSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz (RM-132).
  • MiniSD card – 2GB (Comes with the Pack)
  • Email (SMTP, IMAP4, POP3), with attachment support (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PDF, ZIP)
  • New Cool 3D Ringtones.

Full List of features

There are about a hundred songs comes preloaded in the Memory Card. To listen to them, I need to activate them first using a code. They are in AAC format.  But it is not being connected to the required activation site. I think some problem at server end. I am Just Googling and trying hard to activate them. If anybody has idea please let me know.

[Update - How to activate the songs?]

Did you notice, I've just added a playlist at left navigation "Currently I am litening to..."

It's a good tool about online music for social music freak to shout out what they are currently listening. http://www.last.fm is an online radio site. You can listen to online music checkout the Charts and what are other people listening to. This might not be a very new idea but what is more tempting to me is that you can show a list of your recent played tracks to your blog or website. That means visitors of your web-log and your friends get updated about your listening habits. You do it by Scrobbling a song played by you on your PC (In my case: winamp and window media player) or online (at last.fm).

Scrobbling a song means that when you listen to it, the name of the song is sent to Last.fm and added to your music profile.

You can get a data list feed in the XML/Text/RSS format also. Like

  • Recent Tracks: 10 recently played tracks
  • Recent Weekly Artists: your most recent weekly artist chart
  • Recent Weekly Tracks: your most recent weekly track chart
  • Top Artists: 50 most played artists from your music profile
  • Top Tracks: 50 most played tracks from your music profile

I'm not sure should I believe these findings of small test. But I guess that they have been built after research and study. Good Time-pass though :)

Manu Sharma convicted by Delhi High Court for the murder of Jessica Lall

Now, one can say that there is something good is happening continuously with the Indian law system. We have seen the low of judiciary system for delayed judgments. This news comes as a new hope in this Lawless country. I would say that a country like India requires high punishments and faster trials for the culprits.

Sometimes back I have seen a interview of Ram Jethmalani, He was screaming his guts out for his client, Manu Sharma, stating he is innocent. Down with Jethmalani, not because he lost but he don’t deserve to be a lawyer. In essence, he is what is said to be "Devils Advocate".

I’d appreciate honorable courts of India for their faster trials of high profile criminal cases nowdays.

Read (at IBN LIVE) what is people around the world gotta say about it.

Casino Royale, a new James Bond Movie with a new 007 Agent, Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig did a good job in this flick. This weekend on Sunday, I watched this movie with my friend Amit. Well, the chase scene was ultimate enough to charge you up to head from toe. Though I found some extra emotions in this movie as usually 007 comes with no emotions. Overall it was good.

On contrary, Kabul express was below average, watched it on Saturday with my colleagues.

The Time of Our Lives (Official song for the FIFA WORLD CUP GERMANY 2006)

II Divo with Toni Braxton

There was a dream
Along time a ago
There was a dream
Destined to grow

A(Y) hacerse pasion
Con un fuego abrasar

Un deseo de dar sin fin (harm).
El deseo de ganar

For the lifetime of heartbreakes (harm).
That brought us here today
We'll go all the way

And It feels like we're having the time of our lives
Lets light the fire by the flame (Let there be sunshine let it rain)
Let's come together as one and the same
Cause it feels like we're having the time of our lives
We'll find the glory in the end
For all that we are
For all that we are
For the time of our lives

Hoy es el día
Es la ocasión de triunfar

Para hacer realidad el destino
Que soñábamos conseguir

Una vida de lucha
Nos trajo hasta aquí
Llegaré hasta el final…

It feels like we're having the time of our lives
Juntos, unidos triunfará nuestro deseo de ser el mejor
It feels like we're having the time of our lives
Toca la gloria junto a mí
La hora llegó

de la verdad
El momento llegó…

Y ya nunca jamás lo podré olvidar

Cause It feels like we're having the time of our lives
Juntos, unidos triunfará nuestro deseo de ser el mejor
It feels like we're having the time of our lives
Toca la gloria junto a mí
La hora llegó
La hora llego
We'll find the glory in the end
For all that we are
For the time of our lives

For the time of our lives

nice one :)

To:
Dr. A. P. J. Kalam,The President of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh,The Prime Minister of India, Shri Arjun Singh,The Minister of Human Resource Development, Shri Lal Krishna Advani,Leader of Opposition.

We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned about the disturbing trend of using reservation as a tool of caste politics by the political parties in power at center and state levels to target a particular vote bank. Reservation though an effective tool should be used with prudence and not as an instrument to rake in votes. In the wake of recent unfold of events the most disturbing and disgusting event is the bill brought to Lok Sabha.. With this we can see the sunset of brand India. The IIT's, IIM's AIIMS, various premier institutes under Delhi University and other central government institute graduates are treated with utmost respect India or abroad. That would cease to happen if the 27% reservation for OBC class’s bill is made effective. The government should help the "Backward" classes to play at the same level. Leveling a field doesn't mean spoiling the game. Time now to make our voice heard; fall on the deaf ears, shame on our politicians who make us sound like Bhagat Singh even when we are "FREE". It’s a request to all to take the responsibility and walk the road...not for your forefathers, not for yourself...but for the generation that awaits.

-We urge the Government of India to reconsider its decision to increase the quota in Central Government Institutes.
We urge the Government of India to re evaluate the efficacy of reservation as a tool of social justice and equality.
-We urge the political parties to help the backward classes rise to the level of competition instead of lowering the bar itself.
-We urge the authorities to ensure that the brand and quality of education never be compromised.
-We appeal to the citizens of the county to play a proactive role in the society by coming forward and taking the responsibility.

Sincerely,

Yesterday, I watched this video on V Channel. Today I was googling for it. To download it ;).

There is something special in this video apart that hottie. I found this one unique from other stereotypes desi video where girl shows their skin more than anything, in their eyes and steps.

Quality and attitude impresses and drive me to watch this video more than 10 times continuously
