Your notebook have same internal audio as C707TU. So it is possible that drivers given above will work with this model also. Try to install the audio drivers as given above.

But I get the error message "Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the MEDIA device for this driver. please help me...........

I have a compaq c755tu. i followed each of the above mentioned steps and met these results:
Video driver:
page cannot be found.
Chipset driver:
run successfully.
Realtek RTL8100CL/RTL8110Sb NIC Driver:
run successfully.
Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC Driver:
saved on the desktop successfully.
Intel Pro Wireless:
run successfully.
Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver
run successfully.
Conexant CX20549-12 High Definition Audio driver:
gives the message"driver installation failed:could not find the media device for this driver".

and then i have a lot of yellow marks in the device manager (everything in other devices and "conexant high definition audio venice 5045" in sound, video and game controlller).
above all there is no sound. plz help me, i dont know what to do.

Microphone is not working in laptop Presario c755tu.i have windowd xp proffessional installed.loudspeaker is working but the problem is with Mic.

I have an COMPAQ Presario C700 bought in India actually it is a Compaq C733TU from the part no p/n KB151PA (printed on a label below the laptop) it is with PATA i.e. non-sata drive and a webcam 965 Graphics version
Drivers for Windows XP SP2 are hard to get from the hp.com site
I have in included search terms in quotes so if links provided are dead you can still search for them using google
Here is the list of drivers which worked for me after installation of XP SP2 (XP with SP2 integrated version) make sure you disable sata support in BIOS settings
Follow the following steps in order
1) Intel Chipset SM Bus Controller: get it from Intel Site Search ”infinst_autol.exe” or “INF Update Utility” for Chipset 9xx (I think it is 945 or 965) on google .Search for Intel Chipset Identification Utility to know you chipset version. Don’t download or install the Zip version of the INF Update Utility
2) Video Drivers for 965 Express Graphics “win2k_xp14311.exe” “intel graphics driver win2k_xp14311.exe” you can download the latest version of Intel Graphics Depending upon your Chipset version.
3) Unknown device in device manager is actually (check properties of Unknown device has something like ACPI\HPQ0006 as one of the details download drivers which I am sharing) HP Quick launch Button Software no need to download the whole stupid software. The driver is just 11 KB while actual download of the full thing is 20 something MB

4) Install UAA: You need to have Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio installed on the computer before installing the audio driver [“sp32395”] install this do not unzip and try to install
Microsoft Windows XP SP2 Universal Audio Architecture Update (Q888111):::::::This is what HP calls it

5) Audio Device is sp34200 is Conexant Hi-Def audio unzip using WinRAR or 7 Zip (execution of SP34200.exe doesn’t work) (The mike doesn’t work for me)

6) Modem is “sp33890” HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP : (execution of SP33890.exe doesn’t work) unzip using WinRAR or 7 Zip

6. Click Browse to C:\sp33890 folder and select the .inf
file and click open and Continue with the onscreen instructions.

7) Wifi is Atheros AR5008 Wireless Network Adapter (not sure but it works) “Atheros xp32-6.0.3.85.zip” 370 KB

I have done all the steps below.

After the installation of above drivers install the following drivers
Conexant CX20549-12 High Definition Audio driver:
