Commonwealth Games 2010, India waiting for better Logo
Given above is the official logo of Commonwealth Games 2010.
New Delhi is waiting with pride to host the Commonwealth Games 2010. Right now, Delhities can see the changes in infrastructure to successfully host the upcoming Commonwealth Games 2010. The proposed dates for the Games are 3 – 14 October 2010 inclusive of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. It is only 2nd time when these games are being held in Asia and India is only third developing nation to host the event. Before India, Jamaica (1966) and Malaysia (1998) proudly hosted the games in Asia. This is the time when India could represent itself as a Sporting and cultural nation. Everything seems to be smooth till now.
But the above logo disappointed me a bit. It is very simple without any artistic work. I believe this could be more beautiful. A simple text, “Delhi 2010 Common Wealth Games”, has been written with the CGF (Commonwealth Games Federation) logo with the same old Appu (the lion) we saw in 1982 Asian Games. This seems that Indian Olympic association didn’t bear pain to design a good logo. This is quite embarrassing. One can easily guess there was no effort to design this logo. This really doesn’t represent a country like ours. A country like India which is known around the globe for its artistic and cultural products should really bring up some decent logo.

I really like this logo specially the smiling tiger. It look very artistic. I congratulate the person (I don’t know who that person is) who designed this logo. This logo gives fresh feeling.
after reading all these comments, I would like to inform that this Tiger is NOT the logo…Its the mascot!! So, please know the logo first and then put ur comments. thatz a gud one!
before commenting any further.. hav a look at the CWG 2006 hosted by melbourne. The logo, mascot and the overall presentation is of very high quality.
The current logo and mascot can be improved upon.
On jan 6th, CWG had unveiled the NEW logo … however i couldn’t find it on their website or any news site…. i’d be thankful if ne one could help me with this….

NAME OF THE MASCOT IS : SHEROO
The mascot of the Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010 is SHERA not Sheroo.
Sheroo was the mascot of Commonwealth YOUTH Games held last year in Poona.

Tiger logo is suitable for telling the fast growth of India with respective to other nations.

shera logo is fine but the animation that i happend to see in some channel was really sad especially at the age of AVATAR(movie) kind of graphics and techniques.concerned people should have worked little more on it.
