IBM PC AT
I still remember my first computer (that I could called mine) and the fun that I would have with it. It was a IBM PC AT (introduced in 1984), 6Mhz Processor initially having 2MB physical Ram. No HDD and would boot to dos prompt (A:\>). When all my friends would play Hide and Seek, I keep busy myself busy with Computer Games, small applications and removing bad sectors in the floopy disks.
Few applications that I can recall are
Word Star a famous word processor that time, still remember taking the print out of leave applications and creating the members cards of school football team for myself and friends.
Bannermania a game that could create fabulous banner with good quality in print out.
Dbase III plus a database utility.
Turbo C A very famous C, C++ compiler. The help menu of Tubo C was great help for learning.
Basic (and Qbasic later) another programming language.
I would also play several games like – PC-Man, Paratroopers, Digger (Dig-Dug), Loadrunner, Cat, Prince of Persia, F1GP (Formula 1 Grand Prix) … This list can go on
.
